Many Catholic believers would use Scripture from
James 5:13-15
Is anyone of you suffering? He should keep on praying. Is anyone cheerful? He should keep on singing psalms. Is anyone of you sick? He should call for the elders of the church, and they should pray for him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will save the person who is sick. The Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.
My dearly Catholic friends, I give you time to read that verses and think by yourself, word by word. What do you understand?
Isn't it crystal clear that you should call elders of the church and they should pray for you and anoint you with oil in the name of the Lord? Who are your elders then? Just use your own understanding, if somebody ask you to go to the elder in your neighbourhood, would you go to local cemetary, and try to find the elder of the village from the past time? Do you want to be in contact with the dead? You will think the people who do that are mad, crazy. But that exactly what you are doing now. Bible said you need to go to the elders of the church, but then, you go to the saints, popes, or even Mary who already dead long long time ago.
My friends, your elders are your pastors, your reverants, priests who are still alive. How can the dead pray for you, how can the dead anoint you with oil? By faith? Faith to the dead? Why don't you put your faith only to Jesus, who was dead but resurrected. He is alive.
The Roman Catholic Church teaches you, or rather, make you believe that all the Saints, Popes, Mary pray for you. I have been in the Catholic church for almost 1 years. In their prayers, the priest would conduct like this: 'Dear Saints A, hear our prayer.....then goes on and on by praying to another saints (B, C, D, etc) and the attendants will reply by saying, Please listen to our prayers on and on. So miserable! They are worshipping God in vain, no peace in the heart, no joy, no excitement to have fellowship with God.
Yes, all of those saints you mentioned in your prayers, they were elders at their times, but now, they are nothing, just dead bodies, even worse, perhaps their bodies already decay. Please listen to me, maybe in your church there is no dead bodies of saints, but go to Italy. You who has illness, pray in from of their coffins, I want to hear your testimonies. Are you really healed? If not, why you still believe? You pray to the dead, what result you will receive? Nothing, my friends, because man need energy to pray, energy comes from breathing and eating. How can people who can't breath and eat, pray for you? Use all your senses please!
If you had cancer right now, I would challenge you, would you dare to pray to the coffin in Italy and believe that you will be healed by praying in front of it? If you were really healed, I would pay all the expenses you used to travel. I really mean it. Please pray in front of those saints' coffins. But before that, please bring notification from the proven doctor that you really dying of cancer. I want to hear your testimonies.
You will reason, Alvin, see that body, they are saints, that's why their bodies stay the same, don't decay at all. Let me ask you, have you heard about mummies in Egypt http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mummy? Some of them were dead in 3300 BC, but check their body, what do you see? Almost perfect, that was technology 5300 years ago, how about today technology, which enable people go to Mars, see something very detail in ultra-microscopes, calculate the the most difficult equations with super genius computers, in contact with people around the world in seconds? If your saints, popes' bodies stay still. It is only last at max 2000 years ago. Remember the mummies please!!
If you reasoning by saying those undecaying bodies are the proof of their life-pleasing God. I would say that Pharaohs also lived pleased God. But then, you would say to me. 'NO, NO, BIG NO NO, Pharaohs were wicked, not pleasing God at all, it is written in the Bible, they didn't believe God, that's why they chased after Israel, and even after that, they still tried to attack Israel.' Then, by saying that, you contradict yourself again, my friends. You said before that the undecaying bodies is the proof of God-pleasing life, except for mummies perhaps.
So, please pray to Jesus only, not to Mary, not to saints, not to Popes.
Then, about confession of your sins, you would use the next verses on that Scripture.
James 5:16
Therefore, make it your habit to confess your sins to one another and to pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
My friends, yes, yes. I am very agree, we need to confess our sins, but you neglect something. Have you seen the words 'one another' there? Please don't corrupt the Bible. What 'one another' means?
If I have confessed my sins to the priests, should they also confess their sins to me if they did something wrong? Have your priests ever confessed their sins to you? You would say, 'Alvin, I am a sinner, they are saints. We are different.'
Does the Bible not tell us that all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)? Or James himself said in
James 3:2
For all of us make many mistakes. If someone does not make any mistakes when he speaks, he is perfect and able to control his whole body
Nobody is perfect, my friends, including your priests, pastors, or even Popes. But have you ever listened their sin confession to you? If they never done that, that's not 'one another', two ways contact, that's one way contact. Am I right?
So, please use your senses. Actually I already tired talking about these stuffs. But, I have promised to answered all the questions arise.
